Xi'an
Please arrange your international flight to Xi'an, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel check in. the rest of the day will be your free time to do a little exploration.

2nd Sept.

Xi'an
 Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Our local guide at Xian will pick you at the hotel. Then we will be visiting the Bid Wild Goose Pagoda. It is where the renowned Buddhist Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought back all the way from India. The pagoda is one of the oldest structures in China. Originally it consisted of a brick structure of five storeys and was about 60 meters high. It was first built in 589AD during the Sui Dynasty. Between 701AD and 704AD during the reign of the Empress Wu Zetian five more storeys were added to the pagoda making it ten in all. Then head to Bell Tower. This is the emblem of Xian city. It was used to keep time for the town and to sound alarms. This huge tower was originally built in the 14th century, and was relocated in 1739.

Xi'an
The Terracotta Warriors

Today you will pay a visit to Terracotta Warriors and Horses(including electrical car) and Muslim Street.  After that you will have chances to taste many delicious local snacks and Muslim specialties, and also experience the local Muslim life and culture atmosphere at Muslim Street.
Terracotta Warriors and Horses: this is one of the greatest archaeological findings of the 20th century - the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb from two thousand years ago. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China. Emperor Qin Shi Huang ascended to the throne of Qin at the age of 13 in 246 BC. Under him, Qin conquered the other six warring states and became the first true emperor, or Shi Huang, of China.

Xi'an Lanzhou  D2697 (17:05-20:19)
Shaanxi Provincial History Museum

After breakfast, visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, then proceed to visit the City Wall. After lunch transfer to train station go to Lanzhou by bullet train, then go to the hotel to have good rest after dinner.
Shaanxi provincial History museum: is one of the major museums in China. It holds numerous unearthed cultural artifacts from within the Shaanxi province as well as the rest of China. It covers 65,000 square meters, with a building area of 60,000 square meters. The newly built modern building recreates Tang-dynasty architecture and successfully symbolizes the great extent of Shaanxi history and its remarkable culture.
The Ancient City Wall: this is the most complete city wall that has survived in China as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. The City Wall has corner towers, ramparts, sentry towers, gate towers, battlements and a number of city defensive fortifications with very strong defense capability. You can walk, even cycle on the wall.

Lanzhou Zhangye  D2757(17:30-20:52)
HuangHe Mother Statues

Your Lanzhou sightseeing will begin with Xiguan Mosque this morning. The next scheduled destination will be Waterwheel Park. Then proceed to visit HuangHe Mother statues, after lunch, take bullet train from Lanzhou to Zhangye, then go to hotel for check in after dinner.
Xiguan Mosque is one of the Muslim temples in Lanzhou. The Xiguan Mosque was built in the Ming Dynasty in the Hongwu or Yongle period. The existing Xiguan Mosque is a restored building in 1990. It covers an area of more than 4,800 square meters.
Waterwheel Park: In the garden, two huge waterwheels with striking appearances stand uprightly on the south bank of the Yellow River. They are modeled on the antique waterwheel, having quadrate buckets and a diameter of 16.5 meters (54.1 feet). In the garden, tourists can experience crossing the river on a sheepskin raft, which is the most primeval ferrying tool in the northwest region of the Yellow River.
HuangHe Mother statues: The whole sculpture comprises a mother and a baby. The mother with long hair, slim figure, lying on the undulate water looks happy and kind. On her breast holds a small kid who bears naive smile. Yellow River Mother Sculpture reflects the long history and culture of Gansu Province.

6th,Sept.

Zhangye Jiayuguan  (300kms, 4-5hrs driving)
Danxia Landform

Hotel breakfast and then your guide will meet you at Hotel transfer to visit Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park(Including electrical car), which is located in Nantaizi Village, Nijiaying Township, Linze, 40 kilometers away from Zhangye. Within the 100 square kilometers of hilly country, there is Danxia Landform with strange shape, bright color and tremendous momentum. Danxia means separate peaks and precipitous fantastic rocks formed by long weathering, stripping and water erosion. The Danxia form was bred in Jurassic Period and the tertiary period about 2 million years ago. After lunch, on the way visit Jiuquan Mosque, which was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is not only a place where local Muslims gather for worship, but also a venue for Muslims to resolve disputes and judge their merits.  Overnight in Jiayuguang.

Jiayuguan Dunhuang  (500kms, 6-7hrs driving)
 Jiayuguan Pass

Hotel breakfast and then your guide will meet you at Hotel transfer to visit the first pass at the west end of the Great Wall of China Jiayuguan(including battery car), after lunch, transfer to Dunhuang, visit Dunhuang Mosque, Overnight in Dunhuang.
Jiayuguan Pass: stands in the southwest part of Jiayuguan City, about 6 km away from downtown. The Ming Dynasty fort here guards the strategic pass, at the western end of the Great Wall – this was the last section built by the Ming Dynasty.  Construction of the fort was started in 1372 in the Ming Dynasty, and subsequently enlarged and strengthened, and was known as 'the strongest pass under heaven'. It is located in the Jiayu Highland, hence its name Jiayuguan. It is situated between the Wenshu and Heishan Mountains at the foot of Jiayuguan Hill of the Qilian Mountain range.

Dunhuang  Turpan  D2703(15:11-18:57)
 Crescent Moon Lake

Hotel breakfast and then your guide will meet you at Hotel transfer to visit Echoing-Sand Mountain(including ride on Camel),  Crescent Moon Lake, then take bullet train to Turpan, overnight in Turpan.
Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Moon Lake: Echoing-Sand Mountain, known as Mingsha Mountain to the Chinese, is 5 km to the south of Dunhuang and is famous for the constant sound of the moving sand. Legend has it that many years ago a horrific battle was fought here, and the sounds we hear today were the haunting cries of soldiers buried in the sand dunes. Situated within the Echoing-Sand Mountain Park, the Crescent Moon Lake is literally an oasis in the desert. The lake’s name derives from the crescent moon shape taken by the pool of spring water between two large sand dunes. Although the surrounding area is very dry, the pool surprisingly doesn’t dry up as one might expect.

Turpan  Urumqi  (300kms, 4hrs driving)
Karez well

Hotel breakfast and then your guide will meet you at Hotel transfer to visit historical Flamming Mountain, Tuyoq Village and Karez Well, then take coach to Urumqi, overnight in Urumqi.
The Flamming Mountain is famously described in the classic Chinese mythological novel “Journey to the West”. It runs west from Shanshan County, is 98 km in length and 9 km across, with a relative height of 500 meters and the highest peak at 832 meters. The mountain is a branch range of the Bogda Mountain, formed in the orogenic movements of the Himalayas. This is the hottest place in China. The highest air temperature in summer is 47.8 degrees Centigrade, and the ground is over 70 degrees Centigrade in summer.
Tuyoq Village: This is a 12 km long primitive Uighur agricultural valley about 70 km from Turpan, with vineyards and fields in the northern and southern valleys and a narrow ravine that connects them. It is a Muslim religious pilgrimage site. The southern mouth of the valley has big Uighur mosques older than the Sugong Minaret and a cave thought by many to be described in the Koran.
Karez Well: The ancient Karez Irrigation System, which is still used today, is a unique irrigation system in Turpan. It takes advantage of the slopes, draws the underground water to flow by itself to irrigate farmland. It consists of four parts: vertical wells, underground channels, ground canals, and small reservoirs.

Urumqi
The International Grand Bazaar

Hotel breakfast and then your guide will meet you at Hotel transfer to visit Heavenly Lake(Including electrical car and cruise), Tianchi in Chinese. Then enjoy Urumqi International Grand Bazaar.
Heavenly Lake: High up in the Heavenly Mountain, or Tianshan, the Heavenly Lake is a long and narrow gourd-shaped moraine lake, 3400 meters long, about 1500 meters wide, 105 meters at the deepest point, with an average depth of 40 meters, covering an area of about 5.9 square kilometers. To the east of the lake stands the Bogdia Peak - the highest peak in the east part of Tian Shan Mountain, which is capped by glacier and snow glistening in the sun, finely contrasted with blue lake water, forming a fabulous scenery. There are eight beautiful scenic spots in the lake area.
International Bazaar: Here you will find a bustling market filled with fruits, clothing, crafts, knives, carpets, and almost anything that you can imagine. This is the largest bazaar in Urumqi, and is a place most welcomed by tourists, especially the ladies who will find they can buy some traditional Uygur cosmetics. On Sunday, there are more stalls and more goods to buy than any other day. The old streets around the bazaar are particularly worth seeing.
