Laoye Temple Port(China and Mongolia)
Laoye Temple Port is located in Balikun County, Hami region, Xinjiang, bordering Mongolia's Gobi Altai Province, opposite the Burmese Port. There are 172 kilometers from Barkol County to Laoye Temple Port, some 300 kilometers from Hami City to the port.
The Laoye temple port is the station of merchants in the history, and it is the an important trade pass between China and Mongolia. On 24 June, 1991, the Chinese and Mongolian governments reached an agreement to open the Laoye Temple-Burchustai Port. The port was officially opened in March 1992, and the opening period is 15 to 30 of March, June, August and November. Residents in the border areas of the two countries can enter the port with border passes.
