- The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses
After breakfast head to Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, the Bell Tower and the Wild Goose Pagoda.
The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses: The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb.The Wild Goose Pagoda:The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
The Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India. Big Goose Pagoda is one of the oldest structures in China. Originally Big Goose Pagoda consisted of a brick structure of five storeys and was about 60 meters high. First built in 589A.D.in the Sui Dynasty. Between AD 701 and AD 704 during the reign of the Empress Wu Zetian five more storeys were added to the pagoda making ten in all.
Day 3Xi'an Dunhuang
- City Wall
After breakfast Visit Shanxi Historical Museum, Xian City Wall, The Grand Mosque.And then take the flight to Dunhuang.
The Provincial Museum: One of the main museums in China which holds numerous unearthed cultural relics of China.The Ancient City Wall: An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history
City Wall : An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history.The City Wall has corner towers, ramparts, sentry towers, gate towers, battlements and a a number of city defensive fortifications with very strong defense capability.
The Great Mosque is a Chinese traditional Alhambresque architecture with a long history and grant scale, which is the great combination of Islamic and Chinese culture. It was recorded that it was established in the first year of the Tian Bao reign by Li Lung Ji, after renovations and expansions on several occasions in the Song, Yuan and especially the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it gradually takes on the current performance. The Great Mosque and the Muslim Quarter now is the important relic preservation of Shanxi Province and the national important relic preservation of third period.

After breakfast head to visit the Mogao Grottoes .
Mogao Grottoes:The traveler finds the Mogao Caves, a shrine of Buddhist art treasures, 25 km (15.5miles) from downtown Dunhuang on the eastern slope of Mingsha Shan (Mount Echoing Sand). A network of plank reinforced roads plying north to south 1600 meters (5, 249 feet) long lead to the cave openings, which are stacked five stories high some reaching up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Day 5Dunhuang Urumqi
- Crescent Lake
After breakfast head to visit Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake.then be transferred to the railway station to catch the train to Urumqi
Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake:Located 5 km (about three miles) south of Dunhuang City, the Echoing-Sand Mountain, for many Chinese well known as Mingsha Mountain, is celebrated for the sound of the moving sand. In 1994 it was acclaimed as the national key scenic spot. Together with the Crescent Spring and the Mogao Caves, the Echoing-Sand Mountain is most popular site in Dunhuang travel.You may wonder why the sand makes these different sounds.
Day 6Urumqi Heavenly Lake
- Erdaoqiao Market & International Bazaar
After breakfast visit Xinjiang Museum,and then head to visit the Heavenly Lake,visit Erdaoqiao Market & International Bazaar after back to Urumqi.
Xinjiang Museum is the main institution to collect and investigate the unearthed cultural relics and specimens in Xinjiang. There are more than 50 thousand pieces of various kinds of cultural relics stored in the museum.
Heavenly Lake,110 kilometers from Urumqi, the Heavenly Lake is a long and narrow gourd-shaped moraine lake, 3400 meters long, about 1500 meters wide, 105 meters at the deepest point, with an average depth of 40 meters, covering an area of about 5.9 square kilometers.
Day 7Urumqi Kashgar
- Handi craft street
After breakfast take the flight to Kashgar,and Visit Idgar Mosque, Old Town,Handicraft street upon arrival.
Id Kah Mosque It is the large Mosque in China and most famous one in Xinjiang. The Mosque started to build in the mid of fifteenth century, and has gradually developed to the present size. Id K ah Mosque, with about 16800 square meters in area, consisting of Pray Hall, the Koran teaching Hall, The Corridor, the Arches and other buildings attaching to it.
Handicraft street Streets near this big market are choked on Sundays with farmers and buyers arriving by donkey cart, truck, bicycle, horseback, Ute, motorbike or on foot, with their animals.
Day 8Kashgar Taxkorgan county
- Karakul Lake
After breakfast take the drive on the China and Pakistan highway to visit the Karakul Lake.
Karakul Lake At an altitude of 3,600 m. it is the highest lake of the Pamir plateau, near the junction of the Pamir, Tianshan and Kunlun Mountain ranges. Surrounded by mountains which remain snow-covered throughout the year, the three highest peaks visible from the lake are the Muztag Ata (7546m), Kongur Tagh (7,649m) and Kongur Tiube (7,530 m). The lake is popular among travelers for its beautiful scenery and the clarity of its reflection in the water, whose color ranges from a dark green to azure and light blue. There are two Kirgiz settlements along the shore of Karakul Lake, a number of yurts about 1km east of the bus drop-off point and a village with stone houses located on the western shores.
Day 9Taxkorgan county Kashgar
- The Terracotta Warriors
After breakfast visit the Stone City and then back to Kashgar .
Stone City :Built on a mound of 20 meters high (about 67 feet high), all that remains of the Stone City today are some parts of the periphery of city, such as the gate, city wall whereas the buildings inside the city had all collapsed. However you can still enjoy the view of the ruined city, the surrounding snow-crowned mountains, grasslands, rivers and even the flavor of national traits of the Tajik people
Day 10Kashgar Aksu
- Apak Hoja Tomb
After breakfast visit the Sunday bazaar and Apak Hoja Tomb and head to Aksu.
Sunday Bazaar (livestock Market)Streets near this big market are choked on Sundays with farmers and buyers arriving by donkey cart, truck, bicycle, horseback, ute, motorbike or on foot, with their animals. It's loud, lively and cheerful as they arrive, eat breakfast, set up their animals and check out the action. Cattle, sheep (they definitely look different), goats, donkeys, horses have their own sections; sellers show their animals are "good eaters"(most go as livestock not meat) and the entire experience is fascinating and fun.
Apak Hoja Tomb it is reminiscent of the Central Asian artistic style of Samarkand or Isfahan. A handsome blue-and-white tiled gate leads into the compound, which includes a small religious school and the Abakh Khoja family tomb.
Day 11Aksu Kuqa
- Great Tianshan Canyon
After breakfast drive to Kuqa,visit Kizil Grottoes, Great Tianshan Canyon.
Kizil Grottoes the caves were excavated on the cliff of Qul-tagh Mountain by the Muzart River, as the earliest caves in Xinjiang, they care also the earliest ones in China. The contents of these paintings are very rich. Great Tianshan Canyon Known as the most stunning Canyon in China, five thousand meters in total length, and two hundred meters in average depth, the Grand Canyon was once the ancient river course for Kuqa River.

We will take a half an hour walk in the Grand Canyon to experience the gorgeous scenery.
Day 12Kuqa Korla
- Iron Gate Barrier
After breakfast visit the Subashi Ruins and Kuqa Old Town.and then drive to Korla and visit the Iron Gate Barrier
Subashi ruins The site is located on the ridges on both sides of Kuqa River and 23 kilometers to the north of Kuqa City . “Subashi” means “headwater of a river”. It is composed of two parts divided by the river. With a lot of ruins of stupas, temples and grottoes from the Wei and Jin Dynasties to the end of the Tang Dynasty, the site is the biggest site of Buddhist temples in Xinjiang.
Iron Gate Barrier:Occupying a strategic position at the mouth of a precipitous gorge on the Konqi River in the north of Korla, the barrier was such a point that one must to pass through before coming into the Tarim Basin from the north. According to textual research, it was set up in Jin Dynasty. Because it is situated in a strategic point and difficult to access, the barrier is vividly called “Iron Gate Barrier”.
Day 13Korla Turpan
- Bezklik Grottoes
After breakfast head to Turpan,visit Bezklik Grottoes, Astana Tombs, Tuyoq Valley after arrival.
Bezklik Grottoes. “Bezklik”means “a place with beautiful decoration”. These caves are first excavated in Qu`s Gaochang period. Astana Tombs are the graveyard of the residents lived in the Gaochang City in the Jin-Tang times. Between 1959 and 1975, a great number of cultural relics have been unearthed, including Chinese documents, textiles, epitaphs, coins, clay sculptures, pottery, wooden wares, silk-paintings, crops and foods ,etc., Known as “the Underground Museum.
Day 14Turpan Urumqi
- Karez Irrigation system
In the morning visit Jiaohe Ruined city, Karez Irrigation system, Sugong Minaret, after lunch Back to Urumqi.
Jiaohe Ruined Running from northwest to southeast, 1760 meters long and 300 meters across at the widest part. The city includes city gates, streets and lanes, government office, temples, domestic houses, cave houses, wells, and an underground temple.Sugong Minaret,Located in Mura Village 2 kilometers to the east of the city of Turpan, the Tower was built in the 41st year of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty,It is an embodiment of the ancient architectural arts of the Uygur nationality.
