Day 1

Arrive / Kashgar

International flight on your own arrangement. ,or we will meet you at the border(Torgurt or Irkestam pass) be met & transferred to your hotel. Feel free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 2

Kashgar
Apak Hoja Tomb

Today you will take the Kashgar city Tour and Visit t Id Kah Mosque, Abakh Khoja Tomb and the Old Town.
The mosque was built in 1426. It is the largest mosque in Xinjiang and the centre of the Moslem activities
The tomb served as the family tomb of Abakh Khoja, the powerful ruler of Kashgar in the 17th century who was revered as a prophet and second only to Mohammed.
The Old city: traditional uygers live in the city.

Day 3

Kashgar  Karakuli Lake (250kms, 3hrs)
Sunday bazaar

In the early morning visit the Sunday Bazaar then driver to Karakuli Lake.
Sunday bazaar: Bazaar means farm trade market in Uygur. The bazaar in Kashgar is the biggest one in Xinjiang.
Karakul Lake,At an altitude of 3,600 m. it is the highest lake of the Pamir plateau, near the junction of the Pamir, Tianshan and Kunlun Mountain ranges. Surrounded by mountains which remain snow-covered throughout the year, the three highest peaks visible from the lake are the Muztag Ata (7546m), Kongur Tagh (7,649m) and Kongur Tiube (7,530 m). The lake is popular among travellers for its beautiful scenery and the clarity of its reflection in the water, whose color ranges from a dark green to azure and light blue. There are two Kirgiz settlements along the shore of Karakul Lake, a small number of yurts about 1km east of the bus drop-off point and a village with stone houses located on the western shores.

Day 4

Kashgar  Kucha by Trian

After Breakfast check out the hotel and do some shopping for the train and then take the train to Kucha, and check into the hotel once our nice guide meet you at the train station and Kucha was an ancient Buddhist kingdom located on the branch of the Silk Road??that ran along the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert in the Tarim Basin and south of the Muzat Rivere.

Day 5

Kucha
Kucha Mosque

Visit the Tianshan Great Canyon, Kizil Grottoes, Kuqa Mosque.
Tianshan Great Canyon in the morning (72 km, 1.5 hours). Known as the most stunning Canyon in China, five thousand meters in total length, and two hundred meters in average depth, the Grand Canyon was once the ancient river course for Kucha River. We will take a half an hour walk in the Grand Canyon to experience the gorgeous scenery, and then enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before returning the same route.
Kuqa Mosque It is located in the north of the old city of Kucha and covers an area of 1165 square meters. With a capacity of 3000 people, it is the second largest mosque in Xinjiang, The mosque consists of a main worshiping hall, a small worshiping hall, a minaret, a qubbah, a religious court and hostels, etc. The mosque is a representative of Uygur architectural art of the Qing Dynasty.
Kizil Grottoes the caves were excavated on the cliff of Qul-tagh Mountain by the Muzart River, as the earlist caves in Xinjiang, they care also the earlist ones in China. The contents of these paintings are very rich. Including jataka stories, Budda’s life story and the stories about karma.

Day 6

Kuqa Turpan by train (hard sleeper) K5806 (19:07—10:28)
Diversifolious poplar

Visit Subashi Ruins, Taklamgan desert , Tarim River. and then take teh train to Turpan
Subashi ruins is located on the ridges on both sides of Kucha River and 23 kilometers tto the north of Kucha City . “Subashi” means “headwater of a river”. It is composed of two parts divided by the river. With a lot of ruins of stupas, temples and grottoes from the Wei and Jin Dynasties to the end of the T`ang Dynasty.
Taklamkan Desert Highway  is the biggest moving desert in the world and most of the people believe that it has buried most of good civilizations among the central Asia. It has occupied land more than 345,000 square km, Taklamakan in local Uyghur language means “Tha desert which buried some places under”, and after some western explorers explore this desert on the early of 20th century, they have given another meaning which is “One go, but never come back”.
Diversifolious poplars Park it is located in the north of Taklimakan Desert, the middle portion of Tarim River, There are sights of Tarim River, the poplar trees, the desert and the oil industry. It is a good a tourist resort of sightseeing, entertainment, adventure, scientific expedition and vacation

Day 7

Turpan
Jiaohe Ruins

Meet at train station, Visit Jiaohe Ruined city, Karez Irrigation system, Sugong Minerat, Local Uyger family in the Vineyard.
The Jiaohe Ruins is located on a mesa in willow leaf shape between the Yarnaz River valleys 10 kilometers to the west of Turfan City. running from northwest to southeast, 1760 meters long and 300 meters across at the widest part. The city includes city gates, streets and lanes, government office, temples, domestic houses, cave houses, wells, and an underground temple.
 The Karez System is a unique irrigation system in Turfan, which, taking advantage of the slopes, draws the underground water to flow by itself to irrigate farmland. It consists of four parts: vertical wells, underground channels, ground canals and small reservois
Sugong Minerat Locatedin Mura Village 2 kilometers to the east of the city of Turfa , theTower was built in the 41st year of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty,It is an embodiment of the ancient architectural arts of the Uygur nationality. The tower is 37 meters high and 10 meters in diameter at the base.
Local Uyger Family with Vineyard Turpan is a kingdom of Grapes, all the local uyger families plant the grapes at the back of their house. Local Uyger family visiting is a special experience for you to know their lifestyle in the fireland.

Day 8

Turpan  Dunhuang by Train
The Flaming Mountain:

After breakfast visit Tuyoq Village. Astana Tombs, The Flaming Mountain and after dinner take the soft sleeper train to Dunhuang
Astana Tombs: where the ancient people are buried. It is famous for its terracotta figurines and tomb paintings
The Flaming Mountain:Many years of volcanic activity have formed the unique crisscrossing gullies and ravines. During mid-afternoon the heat becomes intense as the sun's rays are reflected off the red rocks, as though the hillsides areengulfed by tongues of fire, hence the name.

Day 9

Dunhuang
 Mogao Caves

Our nice guide meet you at the train station and then check into the hotel., after breakfast visit Mogao Grottoes, and in the afternoon visit the Echoing-Sand Mountain and the Crescent Lake where you can experience the camel riding as the Silk Road caravan.
Mogao Caves. The name is derived from the elms in the valley, and as you travel along the valley road you can easily imagine how it must have been to be a poet or brave solder in the distant past
Echoing-Sand Mountain: Crescent Moon Spring is 6km south of Dunhuang in the Singing Sands Mountains and is quite literally an oasis in the desert. The spring's name derives from the crescent moon shape taken by the small pool of spring water between two large sand dunes. Although the area is very dry, the pool doesn't dry up as one might expect.

Day 10

Dunhuang Jiayuguan(350kms, 4.5hrs)

After breakfast drive to Jiayuguan and visit Yulin Grottoes on the way.and visit the Weijin Tombs upon arrival
Yulin Grottoes: These caves, with their murals and sculptures, are in a valley among Qilian Mountain, about 180kms from the
Weijin Tomb: About 15 kilometers northeast of Jiayuguan, there are over 1,400 tombs which were built during the Wei and Jin dynasties (between the 3rd and 5th century). They feature brick wall paintings showing various social activities of the times.

Day 11

Jiayuguan   Lanzhou by Train
The Jiayuguan Pass

Visit The Jiayuguan Pass, The Great Wall on the Cliff, Weijin Tomb, and Great Walls Museum. And after dinner take the soft sleeper train to Xi’an
The Jiayuguan Pass: This Ming Dynasty fort guards the strategic Jiayuguan pass, at the western end of the Great Wall – this was the last section built by the Ming Dynasty. It was built in 1372, and subsequently enlarged and strengthened, and was known as 'the strongest pass under heaven'.
The Great Wall on the Cliff: This is a nearby section of the Great wall which was built on the cliff, and includes sections at a 45 degrees angle, making it seem as if the wall is hanging from a cliff.
 

Day 12

Lanzhou Xiahe (300kms, 4-5hrs)
Labrang Monastery

Our nice guide will meet you at the train station! Cruise from Liujiaxia Gorge to Binglingsi (fast boat), Binglingsi Thousand Buddha Caves and after lunch drive to Xiahe to visit Labrang Monastery and Songke Grassland to know about the mysterious Tibetan culture.
Binglingsi Thousand Buddha Caves : These caves, which stretch for 200 meters, were built during the Western Qin, North Wei, Sui, Tang, and Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties (between the 3rd and 18th centuries). They are highly valued for their contribution to research into the history of Chinese painting, and the spread of Buddhism during that time.
Labrang Monastery: One of the major monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect. The architectural layout follows the Tibetan style, while the construction patterns are mostly Tibetan, Han, or a mixture of the two. The White Towers (in the northeast and in the northwest) are very typical.

Day 13

Xiahe  Lanzhou (300kms, 4-5hrs)--Xi'an by train

After breakfast Be transferred back to Lanzhou today. Visit the Provincial museum and the White pagoda park. After dinner take the train to Xi'an

Day 14

Xi'an
Big Goose Pagoda

Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, the Bell Tower and the Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoy the Tang Dynasty show in the evening.
The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses: The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb.
The Bell Tower: The emblem of Xian city.
The Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
The Tang Dynasty show: The show that presents the palace dances and sings in the Tang Dynasty when Xian was the capital.

Day 15

Xi'an  Luoyang by high-speed rail (80mins)
The Ancient City Wall

Visit Shaanxi historical museum, Xian City Wall, The Grand Mosque.
The Provincial Museum: One of the main museums in China which holds numerous unearthed cultural relics of China. and after lunch take the high-speedy rail to Luoyang.
The Ancient City Wall: An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history.

Day 16

Pagoda Forest

After breakfast head to Shaolin temple and Pagoda forest while enjoy the KONGFU show, we can arrange you have Vegetarain lunch.
Shaolin Temple & Pagoda Forest:This temple is shrouded in legend and mystery. The origin of martial arts and kung fu is part of the mystique of Shaolin Temple and the Shaolin monks. This is probably the most famous temple in China, not only because of its long history and its role in Chinese Buddhism, but also because of its martial arts or Wushu. There is a theatre here which presents the famous Kungfu Show at 0930, 1030, 1130, 1400, 1500, and1600. It's best to get there early, as it is only a small theatre with about 200 seats.

Day 17

Luoyang
White Horse Temple

After breakfast visit Longmen Grottoes and White Horse Temple. the rest of the day is for you to explore this ancient city.
Longmen Grottoes: one of the four largest grottoes in China. Live cultural relics lie amid green mountains and serpentine rivers. As early as 1961, Longmen Grottoes had been authorized by the central government of PRC as a key national cultural relic protection unit. It was authorized in 1982 by central government as one of the 44 National Parks of China. In 2000, it was enlisted into the List of World Heritage.
White Horse Temple: Backed by Mangshan Mountain and facing the Luohe River, White Horse Temple lies about 20 kilometers to the east of Luoyang city, Henan province. Since White Horse Temple, Buddhism monasteries in China traditionally began to be called as 'temple'. White Horse Temple as a result was ever since regarded as the cradle land of Buddhism in China. In history, highly accomplished Buddhist monks from China, even world renowned Buddhist monks from abroad used to pay visits to White Horse Temple in pursuit of Buddhism inspirations and wisdom; it was thereby also called the 'Home of Sakyamuni' or the 'Court for Ancestors'.

Day 18

Luoyang  Beijing or Shanghai /the city where you can take flight home
