Day 1

Lanzhou

Pls arrange your international flight to get to Lanzhou. We will meet you at the train station, transfer you to the hotel and check you in. The rest of the day will be your free time to do a little exploration at your leisure.

Day 2

Lanzhou
Binglingsi Thousand Buddha Caves

Breakfast in the hotel, we will drive to visit the Binglingsi Thousand Buddha Caves which is close to Liujiaxia Reservoir, These caves stretch for 200 meters, were built during the Western Qin, North Wei, Sui, Tang, and Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties (between the 3rd and 18th centuries). then we will drive back to Lanzhou, you can do a Lanzhou city tour, visit the first bridge Of the Yellow River, it is the first highway bridge in the ancient Yellow River, also the second city steel bridge in China. Yellow River’s Mother Statue, explore the ancient history and culture of Gansu Province. Waterwheel park, an ancient irrigation tool.

Day 3

LanzhouWuwei    (272kms, 3-4 hrs driving)
Leitai Han Tomb

After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and take you to our next stop: Wuwei. upon arrival, visit the Confuciouss Temple, which is also known as Holy Temple or Confucian Temple. known as “the Top among the Academies in Longxi.” Confucious’ Temple, facing the south, is composed of three sets of buildings, the east, the central and the west. Then head to Leitai Han Tomb, it is a large brick-and-stone structure built during the late Eastern Han Dynasty. A total of two hundred and twenty one pieces of relics were unearthed from the tomb including gold, sliver, copper, iron, bone, stone and pottery.

Day 4

WuweiZhangye      (243km, 2-3hrs driving)
Zhangye Danxia Geological Park

After breakfast, drive to Zhangye,  we will be visiting the Giant Buddha Temple, which is the important place of the Silk Road. Midway in the Hexi Corridor along the Silk Road lies the historic city of Zhangye, the centerpiece of which is the mysterious Giant Buddha Temple. Located in the southwest corner of Zhangye in Gansu Province, the Giant Buddha Temple is the largest architectural relic in Gansu Province of the Western Xia (1038-1227) period. China's largest reclining Buddha is well preserved in this temple. after that, head to next stop, Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park enjoy the sunset, Danxia National Geological Park,which is 510 square kilometres in total, it located in the north of Qilian mountains, SuNa County territory. The scenic Danxia, is a distance of 40 km from east Zhang Ye city, north from Linze county town by 20 kilometers, this is the most typical arid area of northern China.

Day 5

ZhangyeJiayuguan     (223kms, 2-3hrs driving)
Weijin Tombs

In the morning, we will meet you at the hotel lobby and we will drive to Jiayuguan. visit the Jiayuguan pass. This Ming Dynasty fort guards the strategic Jiayuguan pass, at the western end of the Great Wall – this was the last section built by the Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall Museum opened to visitor in October 1989 and it is the first one to exhibit the Great Wall culture in a comprehensive and systematic way. visit the Weijin Tombs, which are ancient tombs of brick paintings dating back 265-420 AD. The wall paintings discovered are lifelike and succinct in style and cover a wide range of subjects including politics, economics, culture, military affairs, folk customs, and science and technology during the Wei and Jin periods.

Day 6

JiayuguanDunhuang     (350kms, 4.5hrs driving)
Echoing Sand Mountain&Crescent Lake

After breakfast, we will drive to Dunhuang, Upon arrival, visit the Echoing Sand Mountain&Crescent Lake. stroll around the Shazhou Night Market,the most bustling place of Dunhuang at night . 
Echoing-Sand Mountain or “Mingsha Mountain” is one of the Four Great Singing Sands of China. Completely piled by sands, the mountain stretches for 40km in length and 20km in width respectively, with the highest point reaching 250m. When there is wild wind, the sands will be blown up and make loud sound, while the sound sounds like being produced by some ancient musical instrument when blew by breeze, hence the name. Surrounded by the Mingsha Mountain, Crescent Lake, is named after its crescent-like shape. According to historical record, the lake has been in existence for hundreds of years without ever being buried by the sand; it is really a geological wonder.

Day 7

Dunhuang
Mogao Caves

Today we will visit the Mogao Caves, then we will explore the Dunhuang Museum, to explore the local culture and history.
Mogao Grottoes, also known as the Thousand Buddha Grottoes, this UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the great artistic and religious wonders of the world and it is famous for its exquisite murals and various sculptures inside the caves, which was built in different dynasties, spanning 1,000 years of Buddhist art.

Day 8

Dunhuang

Breakfast at the hotel, then you will be transferred to the airport and back to your sweet home.
