Oriental Pearl Tower

Oriental Pearl TV Towerwith its absolute height of 468 meters becomes Asia's second, the world's fourth tallest tower. Its height ranks only after Guangzhou New TV Tower, the CN Tower of Toronto and Ostankino TV Tower of Russia Moscow. The Oriental Pearl TV once was the highest building in Shanghai, but now it has been replaced by Shanghai World Financial Center. The Oriental Pearl Tower is located at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong district, opposite to the Bund of Shanghai. It has become one of symbolic buildings in Shanghai, just like the Statue of Liberty in New York, Sydney Opera House and Eiffel Tower in Paris; melting itself into a new scene with Nanpu Bridge on the left and Yangpu Bridge on the right, nicknamed "double dragons playing the pearl".
Designers creatively put 11 spheres of different sizes in series, from the air to the grass land. And two huge center spheres dazzle the eyes just like rubies, resonating with the gigantic ball of the Shanghai International Convention Center to form a poetic picture of "large and small pearls falling on a jade plate"---which comes from a sentence of the poem "pipa song" of Tang Dynasty.
When night falls, the fancy lights of the Oriental Pearl Tower shine together, and when you overlook the night view of the city from the top of the tower, Shanghai becomes a sleepless sea of lights, brilliantly illuminated
Sightseeing
The Oriental Pearl Tower features three columns, each 9m, and fifteen observatory levels. The highest which known as the Space Module is at 350 m. The lower levels are at 263 m which is the Sightseeing Floor and at 90 m which is the Space City. On the 259m Sightseeing Floor, there's the world's highest Air Post Office which avails you to send warm greetings to friends when you are overseeing the city. Six high-speed sightseeing elevators take passengers up to the bubbles of the tower, for a 3 dimensional view over the city.
